Roland Ornelas: CPO

Roland Ornelas is a versatile, result driven supply chain executive with over 15 years of proven leadership experience from robust commodity risk management practices to transforming the supply chain function to maximizing cost savings in leading organizations.  He is a well-respected leader focused on implementing strategic programs that support continued innovation and increase service and savings.

 

Prior to joining the National DCP, LLC, Roland served as the Vice President of Supply Chain for Wyndham Worldwide.  He managed the company’s multi-billion dollar global purchase spend and delivered significant savings across the supply chain and the company’s multi-business units.  His responsibilities included contract negotiations, supplier management, cost savings, revenue generation, cost avoidance and risk mitigation. 

Preceding that position, Roland served as Vice President of Supply Chain Management at O’Charley’s Inc. There, he was involved in delivering savings as a result of outsourcing O’Charley’s $300 million self-manufacturing and distribution operation. He was also a key architect in reengineering a new supply chain organization consisting of strategic sourcing, quality assurance and food safety and sourcing operations.
 
Before his tenure at O’Charley’s, Roland was Vice President of Enterprise Strategic Sourcing for Carlson Companies, an industry leader in hospitality, travel, and marketing operating under brand names such as Radisson Hotels, T.G.I.Fridays, and Carlson Wagonlit Travel.  Roland began his career in the hospitality industry with PepsiCo Worldwide Restaurants and also held positions at United Food Purchasing Cooperative (UFPC), and Havi Global Solutions where he was responsible for sourcing packaging items for McDonald’s U.S. restaurants.  He also held roles of increasing sourcing responsibility with Yum! Brands that included produce and protein.  

Roland holds a Masters of Business Administration from Pepperdine University.  Additionally he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
