Barbara Donnellan: Sr VP of IT

Barbara Donnellan is an experienced executive with over 25 years of retail and distribution experience specializing in purchasing and information technology.  She has consistently demonstrated her expertise in strong negotiation and contract management with the ability to provide leadership and build solid partnerships within the vendor, supplier and member community.  Barbara has a proven track record for team building, providing solid leadership and strategic vision while managing a customer service driven organization.

Prior to joining the National DCP in 2008, Barbara was the Vice President of Information Technology for Brooks/Eckerd Pharmacy for 13 years, leading a team of 250 employees with responsibility for Applications and Operations; Network Management; Infrastructure and Technical Services; Security; multiple Help Desk Call Centers with field personnel; and Pharmacy and In-store systems.  During her tenure at Brooks/Eckerd, she was responsible for the system integration for 3 acquisitions of 50 Rite Aid stores, 80 Osco Pharmacy’s and 1500 Eckerd Drug Stores, growing the chain to over $10 billion in sales and 2000 locations. 

Before beginning her career in Information Technology, Barbara was the Director of Purchasing overseeing consumable purchases for 1200 locations throughout the country under the Brooks, Hooks, SuperX banners, which earned her the New England Candy Buyer of the year award in 1994.

Barbara started her career with Rix Dunnington Drug, holding positions of Accounts Payable Manager, Buyer and Merchandise Manager for 10 years.

Barbara earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education and was inducted into the Hall of Fame for field hockey from the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth.
